D’tigress fly to Belgium ahead of Paris 2024 Olympic Qualifiers

Nigeria’s senior women's basketball national team, D’Tigress, is intensifying training in the camp in Antwerp, Belgium, the venue of the Olympic Women’s qualifying tournament beginning on Feb. 8 to 11.


The training is coordinated by the team’s head coach, Rena Wakama, as the team works hard to secure the sole ticket.


The qualifier is against tough opponents like the host Belgium, the USA, and Senegal.


The team resumed training in the camp a few days ago, with the players displaying team spirit, passion, and unity of purpose and dedication ahead of the games.


“The team, like fish in the water, has taken to the workings of Coach Wakama, who led the team to the Afrobasket title in 2023.


Nigeria plays Senegal on Thursday in the opening group game before taking on Belgium and the USA.
