Air Warriors overcame a tough challenge from Nigeria Customs to secure a 64-56 victory in the ongoing Zenith Bank 2025 Women’s Basketball Premier League in Abuja.
The match was part of Phase One of the league, held at the indoor hall of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium. Nigeria Customs began the game with intensity, dictating the pace and maintaining composure on both ends of the court to win the first quarter 25-22.
In the second quarter, Customs extended their advantage, scoring 12 points to Air Warriors’ 11, closing the first half with a 47-34 lead. However, Air Warriors showed determination in the third quarter, forcing Customs into a more defensive stance. The quarter ended 11-11, narrowing the gap and setting up a close final stretch.
In the fourth quarter, Air Warriors intensified their play, strategically disrupting Customs’ momentum and gradually taking control. Their sustained pressure paid off as they outscored their opponents and clinched a hard-fought 64-56 win.
Speaking after the match, Air Warriors’ coach Joshua Eneneche expressed pride in his team’s effort. “This is our third win, and I’m happy. We came determined to win, and the team delivered,” he said. He commended Nigeria Customs for being strong opponents and credited his team’s unity and determination for the victory.
