According to the federation’s Media Coordinator, Akeem Busari, the team has officially commenced preparations to defend their continental title.
Busari announced that the squad will hold a structured training camp in Abuja this July, which will include homecoming exhibition games aimed at celebrating past successes while providing the technical crew an opportunity to assess player performance.
“These exhibition matches will celebrate the team’s past success and help assess players as coaches work towards final squad selection,” Busari stated.
The NBBF reiterated its commitment to assembling the strongest possible team to maintain Nigeria’s dominance in African women’s basketball.
D’Tigress are aiming to clinch their sixth consecutive Afrobasket title, having won the last five editions. The final squad is expected to be named ahead of the team’s departure for Abidjan later this summer.
