Team Nigeria's Amusan, Brume is on cloud 9 at Lievin France/Houston

Nigerian athletes continue with their superlative performances at international meets as Tobi Amusan and Ese Brume win big at various events in Lievin, France, and Houston, United States.

 

Amusan continued from where she stopped as the Africa's fastest hurdler to clock another time of 7.83s to win the women's 60m hurdles at the Meeting Lievin in France.

 

She defeated Laeticia Bapte, who posted a Season's Best (SB) of 7.97s, and Sarah Lavin in 7.98s. Also, Brume landed a season's best (SB) of 6.84m to win the women's long jump at the Howie Ryan Invitational in Houston, going 4th on the 2024 season top list.

 

She completely took apart the field, beating them by almost a meter, with 2nd-placed Genesis Griffin recording 5.91 m.

 

Nigeria now has two women leading the world in the women's long jump, occupying numbers 1 and 4 on the global list.
