Posted : 19 November 2025

Team Nigeria’s medal haul continued to grow at the ongoing 6th Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, following Pamela Amaechi’s silver medal in the women’s discus with a throw of 56.99 metres. She narrowly missed the gold, which went to Cameroon’s Nora Atim Monie with a throw of 57.04 metres, while Turkey’s Ozlem Becerek claimed bronze with 55.56 metres.

Meanwhile, Nigeria’s Patience Okon-George secured a place in the final of the women’s 400m after finishing second in her semi-final with an impressive time of 52.92 seconds. The three-time national champion will aim for a podium finish in Wednesday night’s final at Prince Faisal bin Fahad Stadium, competing against athletes from Morocco, Turkey, Niger, Uganda, Bahrain, and Guyana.

On the men’s side, Nigeria’s Kure Samuel Adams will contend for a medal in the javelin final. With a personal best of 77.45m and a season best of 76.79m, Adams is confident of finishing on the podium.

Team Nigeria also looks forward to success in the men’s and women’s 4x100m relay finals on Wednesday. So far, Nigeria has won a total of 17 medals, including six gold, seven silver, and four bronze, solidifying its strong presence at the Games.
