Nigerian sprinter Favour Ofili has broken the women’s 150m world record at the Adidas Atlanta City Games held today in Piedmont Park, clocking an unprecedented 15.85 seconds.
She has now made history as the first woman to run the 150m in under 16 seconds, smashing the previous world record of 16.23 seconds set by Shaunae Miller-Uibo in 2018.
Tamari Davis of the USA took second place with a time of 16.14 seconds, followed by Jamaica’s Ashanti Moore in third with 16.50 seconds.
Kennedy Blackmon (16.68) and Kennedy Simon (16.92) rounded out the top five.
