Nigeria’s Amusan Shatters Records Again in Ostrava

Posted : 25 June 2025

World record holder in the women’s 100m hurdles, Tobi Amusan, was in imperious form on Tuesday at the Ostrava Golden Spike Athletics Meeting, storming to victory in the 100m hurdles with a time of 12.45 seconds.

Amusan dominated the field with ease, continuing her fine form after a strong showing in Paris just days earlier, where she clocked 12.24s to finish second in the Diamond League meet.

Though the time in Ostrava was 0.21 seconds slower than her performance in Paris, it was still enough to comfortably secure the win.

Slovakia’s Viktória Forster placed second with a time of 12.74s, while Sarah Lavin of Ireland came third in 12.76s.

A Commonwealth Games gold medallist and Nigeria’s pride on the global athletics stage, Amusan continues to build momentum as the season intensifies, reinforcing her position as a top contender in women’s sprint hurdles.
