French gymnasts gear up for Paris 2024 Olympics with 100 days to go

Posted : 17 April 2024

With just 100 days until the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Marine Boyer and the French Women’s Artistic Gymnastics team are intensely focused on their preparations. Boyer, alongside teammates like Lorette Charpy and Coline Devillard, has been navigating the highs and lows of competition, driven by the goal of achieving success on home soil.

Boyer, a seasoned gymnast at only 23, has her sights set on redemption after narrowly missing out on a podium finish in Rio de Janeiro in 2016. The team's training regimen has primarily revolved around the French Olympic training center in Vincennes, with additional camps held in locations like the Canary Islands and Houston, USA, to optimize their preparation.

As Paris gears up to host its third Olympic Games, anticipation is building for the unprecedented spectacle ahead. The city, steeped in Olympic history, is set to deliver a Games that transcends previous editions, with innovative features like a boat-led Opening Ceremony on the Seine River and cinematic lenses capturing the action within competition venues.

While the French gymnasts acknowledge the pressure of competing at home, they approach the Games with a focus on performance rather than solely on medal aspirations. Drawing inspiration from past achievements and embracing the support of their home fans, they remain committed to their training and are determined to deliver their best performances when the Games commence.
