Samuel Kolawole Oredipe, Vice-Chairman of the Bayelsa State Athletics Association, has been appointed Auditor of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) in the newly constituted board.
The appointment was announced in Abuja by the re-elected AFN President, Chief Tonobok Okowa, shortly after he was sworn in for a second term in office.
Dr. Oredipe is the founder of Samkay Athletics Club and was a candidate for the South-South Zonal Representative position during the recent AFN elections held in Benin City, Edo State.
A former middle-distance athlete, Oredipe currently serves as Assistant Director, News at the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), and is also the Director-General of New Media to the Bayelsa State Governor.
Other key appointments to the AFN board include renowned sports commentator Nneka Nkem Anibieze as Chief Operating Officer, Bamidele Edokpaye as Legal Adviser, and Babajide Odedeji as Safeguarding Officer.
The AFN’s latest appointments are part of an ongoing transition aimed at repositioning athletics governance in Nigeria.
