Bayero University, Kano (BUK) secured its first gold medal at the ongoing 27th NUGA Games in Jos, thanks to a stellar performance by Kenneth Zachariah, who outpaced athletes from over 15 Nigerian universities to win the men’s 1500m race.
Zachariah’s victory was a proud moment for BUK, as he showcased composure, endurance, and an impressive finishing kick that thrilled spectators.
Head Coach Ibrahim Idris praised the achievement, noting that he had confidence in Kenneth’s exceptional ability even before the tournament, given his dedication in training and proven track record.
This milestone signals BUK’s strong intent as its athletes continue to pursue more medals across various events at the Games.
