Amy Hunt delivered a season-best performance to secure second place in the women’s 200m at the Diamond League event in Rome. The race was won by American sprinter Anavia Battle, who crossed the line in 22.53 seconds.
Hunt finished closely behind with a time of 22.67 seconds, followed by Ivory Coast’s Marie-Josee Ta Lou-Smith in third place at 22.75 seconds. Hunt’s strong finish showcased her speed, though she was still a quarter of a second shy of her personal best of 22.42 seconds.
In the women’s 1500m, Ireland’s Sarah Healy claimed victory with a season-best time of 3:59.17. She narrowly outpaced Australia’s Sarah Billings, who finished in 3:59.24, and Abbey Caldwell, who came in third with 3:59.32. The tightly contested race highlighted Healy’s determination and form as she edged ahead in the final moments.
On the men’s side, American sprinter Trayvon Bromell dominated the 100m with a world-leading time of 9.84 seconds. Cameroon’s Emmanuel Eseme followed in second place with a season-best 9.99, while Kenya’s Ferdinand Omanyala secured third place just behind at 10.01 seconds. The race featured some of the fastest sprinters of the season, setting the tone for upcoming competitions.
