Africa's Queen of the Track, Amusan set for fourth Diamond League 100m Hurdles title showdown in China

Posted : 29 March 2024

As the first Diamond League event of the 2024 season is set to kick off in Xiamen, China, Nigeria's World record holder Tobi Amusan is expected to compete in the star-studded Women’s 100mH event scheduled for April 20th.

Nigeria's Queen of the Track, who recently won three gold medals at the just-concluded African Games, is among the athletes who will compete in the 100m Hurdles.

Other athletes expected to compete at the event include current world champions Danielle Williams of Jamaica, World indoor Champions Devynne Charlton, Olympic champion J. Camacho-Quinn, Masai Russell of the USA, Alaysha Johnson, Cyrena Samba-Mayela, Ditaji Kambundji, Yanni Wu, and Megan Tapper of Jamaica.

This star-studded event will take place at Egret Stadium in China on April 20th, 2024.

Amusan made history as the second woman after the USA’s Dawn Harper to win three consecutive Diamond League 100m hurdles titles last September in Oregon with a time of 12:33 seconds.

She won her first Diamond League trophy in 2021 in 12.42 seconds and successfully defended the title in 2022 after clocking 12.29 seconds in Zurich.
