Ajayi Kayinsola Faces Eseme and Simbine at Gyulai Istvan Memorial

Nigerian sprinter Ajayi Kayinsola is set for one of his toughest tests of the 2026 season when he competes at the Gyulai Istvan Memorial in Hungary on July 14.

The prestigious World Athletics Continental Tour meeting will feature a strong field, with Kayinsola lining up against reigning African champion Emmanuel Eseme of Cameroon and South African sprint star Akani Simbine.

The race will be Kayinsola's first competition outside the United States this season. It also provides the Nigerian with another opportunity to measure himself against some of the world's leading sprinters as he continues his development on the international stage.

Eseme heads into the meeting with confidence after claiming the African title, while Simbine remains one of the continent's most consistent performers in the 100 metres. Their presence is expected to make the race one of the highlights of the meeting.
