After a prolonged absence from competitive action due to injury, Amusan clocked a season’s best (SB) time of 11.18 seconds, showing signs that she's gradually getting back to her best.
The race featured an elite field of sprinters, and Amusan held her own, finishing behind Tina Clayton of Jamaica, who won with a time of 10.98s. Jacious Sears (USA) followed closely in 11.04s, while Alana Reid (Jamaica) secured third in 11.16s.
Amusan’s performance reflects her ongoing transition from hurdling to sprinting—a move that began shortly after the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. In late 2024, she and longtime coach Lacena Golding-Clarke made a strategic relocation from the United States to Jamaica, where she now trains at the Racers Track Club under legendary coach Glen Mills, known for mentoring icons like Usain Bolt and Yohan Blake.
Though not on the podium, Amusan’s outing marks a promising return and a step forward as she builds momentum ahead of the 2025 World Athletics Championships.
