Nigeria’s rising swimming sensation, Abdul Jabar Adama, has shattered yet another record at the ongoing 16th Africa Junior Swimming Championships in Cairo, Egypt.
After setting a new record in the 50 meters butterfly on Wednesday, the 16-year-old champion repeated the feat in the 50 meters freestyle, clocking an impressive time of 12.54 seconds.
This performance obliterated the previous record of 22.65 seconds, earning him the gold medal in the event.
Adama’s outstanding performance brings Nigeria’s medal tally at the championship to three, including two golds and one bronze, all courtesy of his individual efforts.
The President of the Nigeria Swimming Federation, Chinonye Aliyu, had the honor of presenting the 50 meters freestyle medal to Adama, who is quickly becoming a household name in Nigerian sports.
