Victor Osimhen shines as Napoli cruise to 4-0 victory over Lecce

Napoli, the reigning Serie A champions, continued their ascent in the league standings with a commanding 4-0 victory over Lecce on Saturday. This impressive win propelled them provisionally into third place, and it featured a notable contribution from Victor Osimhen, who came off the bench to make a significant impact in the second half.
In a strategic move, Napoli's manager, Rudi Garcia, chose to leave Osimhen out of the starting lineup, perhaps with one eye on their upcoming Champions League clash against Real Madrid. However, Osimhen wasted no time making his presence felt once he was introduced into the game in the second half.
Osimhen, who has been considering legal action against his own club due to a video posted on one of the team's social media accounts that appeared to mock him for missing a penalty the previous week, needed just six minutes to find the back of the net after coming on.
In the 51st minute, Osimhen capitalized on a loose ball from Lecce, gaining possession in his own half. He then initiated a swift counter-attack, delivering a precise pass to Khvicha Kvaratskhelia on the left wing. Kvaratskhelia's perfectly placed cross found Osimhen, who headed the ball home, marking his impact on the game.
Napoli had already taken the lead earlier in the match when defender Leo Ostigard scored his maiden Serie A goal. Gianluca Gaetano added a third goal for Napoli just two minutes before the final whistle with a long-range effort. Matteo Politano wrapped up the comprehensive victory with a penalty in injury time.
