After his team failed to progress past the first round of the CAF Champions League, the Chairman of Enyimba International FC of Aba, Kanu Nwankwo on Tuesday said that the team had moved on to concentrate on the next challenge ahead which is 2023/2024 league season and Federation Cup.
The People's Elephants played a goalless draw at home against Al Ahly Benghazi in the second leg of the competition which automatically eliminated them from the tournament 3-4 on aggregate.
Kanu, a recipient of African Footballer of the Year was disappointed about his team's exit said football could be sometimes cruel with results.
``Sometimes these things happen to the best teams, the best players and that’s football.
``We have to move on. The boys have to put their heads up and then know that sometimes in life you fall and you stand up.
``We need to support and encourage them to do better next time.
“We are out of one competition, now we have the league (NPFL) and the Federation Cup, so, yes, we have to do more.
``We have to get more players to join the ones that we do have", he said.
