Lagos-born PSV defender to miss Champions League debut

PSV Eindhoven's coach Peter Bosz has announced a 22-player squad for the upcoming Champions League match against Arsenal in Group B.
Emmanuel van de Blaak, a central defender born in Lagos, won't make his Champions League debut as he wasn't included in the team traveling to London.
Seven defenders have been selected for the London trip, including Armel Bella-Kotchap, Jordan Teze, André Ramalho, Olivier Boscagli, Sergiño Dest, Patrick van Aanholt, and Shurandy Sambo.
Although van de Blaak is listed on PSV's B List for Champions League eligibility, he remains an U21 player after spending over three years with the club.
The 18-year-old defender made his senior PSV debut in a European fixture against Bodø/Glimt last season and was also called up for a game against Sevilla earlier this year.
He's appeared in five games this season for PSV's second team, Jong PSV, in the Dutch second division.
Van de Blaak, now in his fourth season with PSV, extended his contract last summer through 2025.
The match against Arsenal is scheduled to take place at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday, with kick-off set for 8:00 PM Nigerian time.
