Is Lookman regaining Gasperini's confidence at Atalanta?

Atalanta's head coach, Gian Piero Gasperini, has praised Ademola Lookman's standout play in their recent win over Cagliari. 

The Nigerian forward, after experiencing a lull in the 2022-23 season, is now showing signs of a comeback. 

Lookman scored twice in his recent three club appearances and was instrumental in the Super Eagles’ 6-0 triumph over São Tomé and Príncipe. 

Recognizing Lookman's revival, Gasperini highlighted his speed and ability to create chances. 

Though previously a prominent figure in Leicester City and close to overtaking Victor Osimhen in the Serie A scoring race, injury halted Lookman's progress. 

Despite his temporary absence from the starting XI during a key match against Napoli, Gasperini had defended his rotation decisions. 

The coach is now optimistic about Lookman's potential growth and foresees more pitch time for him. 

As Atalanta prepares to challenge Verona, they aim to close the gap with the leading pack, currently trailing fourth-placed Juventus by a single point.
